Abwenzi (Friends) -- We learn about our pen pals

In the Abwenzi program, we learn about our distant penpals ... and we learn about ourselves. Through letters and pictures we share our lives.

Our pen pals are subsistence farmers. Their lives depend on the food they grow themselves. Virtually all Malawians have gardens and they grow almost all the food they eat.

Many Malawians are also fishermen. Fish is a favorite food in Malawi and it is the main source of protein in the Malawian diet.
