Malawian Recipes

In the little country, Malawi, in Africa, most people are subsistance farmers. This means they grow most of their own food in small gardens. If a family has extra food, they take it to market to trade for other necessities. That is how most Malawians live.

There are many crops grown in Malawi. Some are: potatoes, cassava, beans, maize, rice, and tea. Wild animals are always a danger to farmers. If a hippopotamus gets into a crop, the families' "income" is destroyed.

Malawians' main drinks are tea and coffee. Lipton is one of the companies that grows tea in Malawi.
